Introduction
At Tonnta, we believe that your health data is personal and private. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. Simply put: we don't collect it, we don't store it elsewhere, and we don't share it.
Our app is designed from the ground up to be privacy-first. All your episode data, triggers, medications, and notes are stored locally on your iOS device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
What Data We Collect
Tonnta stores the following information locally on your device when you log episodes:
Episode Information
Date, start time, end time, and duration of AFib episodes
Intensity Level
Your self-rated severity: Mild, Moderate, or Severe
Triggers and Resolutions
Factors you associate with episodes (caffeine, stress, alcohol, etc.)
Medications
Medications taken during or after episodes
Notes
Free-text observations about symptoms or experiences
Custom Settings
Your personalized triggers and medication lists
Crash Logs (Optional)
We do not use third-party crash reporting or analytics services (such as Firebase or Sentry). We only receive anonymized crash reports and basic usage statistics provided by Apple through App Store Connect if you have opted-in to share that information with developers in your iOS settings
In-App Purchases (Pay What You Want) (Optional)
If you choose to support the App through a "Pay What You Want" purchase:
- Transaction Handling: All transactions are processed securely by Apple via the App Store.
- Financial Data: We do not collect or have access to your name, credit card number, billing address, or any other financial information.
- Purchase Records: We receive an anonymized transaction identifier from Apple to confirm the purchase and unlock features. This data is not linked to your identity.
What We DON'T Collect
We do not collect your name, email, location, device ID, or any personally identifiable information. We do not use analytics or tracking services.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework on your device. Here's what that means:
- Local-Only Storage: All data is stored in your device's local database. No data is transmitted to any server.
- iCloud Backup (Optional): If you enable iCloud backup for your device, your app data may be included in your iCloud backup. This is managed entirely by Apple's iCloud system.
- Apple's Security: Your data is protected by Apple's device encryption and security features when your phone is locked.
- No Third-Party Services: We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone. Period.
The only way your data leaves your device is if you explicitly choose to:
- Export to CSV: You can export your data as a CSV file and share via email, AirDrop, or other sharing methods. You control where this file goes.
- Generate a Doctor Report: You can create a PDF report to share with your healthcare provider. This file is generated locally on your device and you choose how to share it.
- Enable iCloud Backup: You can enable backup to your personal iCloud account. This feature can be disabled at any time and all App data on iCloud deleted.
We do not have access to any exported data. Once you share a file, it's under your control and the control of whoever you share it with.
Third-Party Services
Tonnta does not use any third-party services that access your data. This includes:
- No analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
- No advertising networks
- No attribution or tracking tools
- No social media integration
The only third-party involvement is:
- Apple App Store: For app distribution only
- Apple iCloud: For device backups (if you enable iCloud backup)
HealthKit Integration
Currently, Tonnta does not integrate with Apple HealthKit. All data is stored within the app using standard iOS libraries. In the future, if we add HealthKit integration:
- It will be opt-in only
- We will only read/write data that you explicitly approve
- HealthKit data never leaves your device except through your explicit action
Children's Privacy
Tonnta is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Data Retention & Deletion
You have complete control over your data:
- Delete Individual Episodes: Swipe left or long press on any episode to delete it
- Delete Local Data: Go to Settings → Manage Data → Delete All Data to remove all data stored on your device
- Delete iCloud Data: Go to Settings → iCloud sync → Delete iCloud Data to delete any data backed up in your personal iCloud account
- Uninstall the App: Deleting the app will remove all locally stored data
Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered unless you have a backup CSV export.
Business Transfer
If the App is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data (which remains local to your device or iCloud) remains subject to this policy.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:
- Updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy
- Providing 30 days notice within the App (for significant changes). We will not make changes that fundamentally alter our commitment to local-only, private data storage without clear notification.
Medical Disclaimer
Tonnta is a logging and tracking tool only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult with qualified healthcare professionals for medical advice.
The data you record in Tonnta is for personal tracking and information purposes. It should not be used as a substitute for professional medical care.
